Every Monday we email the sponsors that left the Home Office register in the week before: name, town, route and date. Renamed sponsors are left out.

In the last 90 days, 196 care providers left the register. These are employers whose first industry code on Companies House is care homes or social care (SIC divisions 87 and 88). The newest are first.
In October 2026, 837 sponsors left the register, up from 735 in September 2026. In the 10 full months from January 2026 to October 2026, 9,956 sponsors joined and 6,082 left.

From December 2025 to October 2026, 6,523 sponsors were removed from the register. 5,281 of them have an industry code on Companies House. Care homes and social care made up 561 (11%).
When the Home Office revokes a sponsor licence, the employer can no longer sponsor workers and is taken off the register. GOV.UK sponsor guidance (part 3, paragraph C10.10) says that a worker who was not involved in the reasons for the revocation normally has their permission shortened so that 60 calendar days are left. It is not normally shortened when 60 days or less are already left. The register itself does not say why a sponsor left: a licence can also be surrendered or expire.

Yes, they can be. GOV.UK sponsor guidance (part 3, paragraph C9.3) says the Home Office removes a sponsor from the public register while its licence is suspended. The register does not say if a removal is a suspension or a revocation. A suspended sponsor cannot assign certificates of sponsorship (C9.2). Workers it already sponsors are not affected unless the licence is then revoked (C9.4). If the suspension is lifted, the sponsor goes back on the register.
The Home Office updates the register on GOV.UK on working days, and we read it twice a day. The date shown on each entry is when our system found the removal.
