ImmigrationGPT gives information about UK immigration, not advice on your own case. It is independent and not part of the Home Office. Under section 84 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 only regulated advisers and lawyers can give immigration advice; for your own case, find a regulated solicitor.

Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0, including GOV.UK guidance and the Home Office register of licensed sponsors.

ImmigrationGPT includes data supplied by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The SRA does not endorse ImmigrationGPT or any firm listed here.

Free to use. Donations pay for hosting and data updates.

Community rules

The network works because people share what really happened to them. These rules keep it useful, honest and safe. They are part of our terms.

Last updated 6 October 2026

You must be 18 or over to join. Breaking these rules can get your content removed and your account restricted, suspended or closed. Some of what is listed below is also a crime, and we report it where the law says we must.

Never allowed

  • Selling, buying or asking for a certificate of sponsorship, a sponsored job or any paid route to a visa. Employers must not charge workers for sponsorship. Posts like this are removed and the account is closed.
  • Fake job offers, fake employers, advance-fee requests and any other scam or fraud.
  • Offering to help anyone enter or stay in the UK unlawfully, or to fake documents, relationships or evidence.
  • Threats, harassment, stalking or encouraging anyone to harm themselves or others.
  • Hate: attacking people for their nationality, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or immigration status.
  • Sexual content, and anything that sexualises children. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
  • Terrorist content or support for proscribed organisations.
  • Content that breaks someone else’s copyright, or that you don’t have the right to share.

Share experience, not advice

Only regulated advisers can give immigration advice in the UK. Tell people what happened to you, what you were asked for and what GOV.UK says, with a link where you can. Don’t tell another member what they should do in their own case, and don’t offer immigration services, paid or free. If you are a regulated adviser, say so on your profile and still keep to general points in public.

If someone needs advice, point them to the SRA register or the IAA adviser finder.

Be honest

  • Only share visa experiences that are your own, and only say you work or worked somewhere if you did.
  • Don’t pretend to be someone else, a solicitor, an employer, the Home Office or ImmigrationGPT staff.
  • Don’t post things you know are false, including made-up processing times or outcomes.

Respect privacy

  • Don’t post anyone’s personal details: names of private individuals, phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, document numbers or photos of documents.
  • Don’t share screenshots of private messages without the other person’s agreement.
  • Remove your own passport, BRP, eVisa share code and case reference numbers from anything you post.

No spam or selling

No advertising, affiliate links, recruitment for fees, or repeated posting of the same thing. Don’t send connection requests or messages in bulk or to people who haven’t shown an interest. Solicitors can reply to enquiries people send them, but can never message a member first.

How moderation works

  • Posts, questions and answers are checked automatically when you submit them. Anything held back is reviewed by a person before it is published.
  • Published posts and questions reach search engines after 48 hours, which gives time to catch problems.
  • Nothing is removed for being negative about an employer or about us. We remove what breaks these rules.
  • Depending on how serious it is, we remove the content, warn you, limit what you can do, or suspend or close your account. Scams, sponsorship for sale and illegal content lead to closure straight away.

Reporting something

Use the Report option on any post, question, answer, profile or message. You can also email contact [at] immigrationgpt.co.uk, including if you can’t sign in. When you report a message, the moderators can read that conversation to review it. The person you report isn’t told who reported them.

If you think we got a decision wrong, about your content, your account or something you reported, email the same address with the details. A person who wasn’t involved in the first decision reviews it, and we aim to reply within 14 days.

If you are in danger, call 999. If you have been offered sponsorship for money or think you have been defrauded, report it to Action Fraud. If you are being exploited at work, contact the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline.
