Every SOC 2020 code in the Skilled Worker rules, with whether it can be sponsored, its going rate, the job titles filed under it, and the licensed sponsors advertising those jobs.
From Appendix Skilled Occupations and the Temporary Shortage List. Going rates are annual, for a 37.5-hour week.
A SOC 2020 code is the four-digit Standard Occupational Classification code for a job. The sponsor puts it on the certificate of sponsorship, and Appendix Skilled Occupations uses it to decide whether the job can be sponsored and what its going rate is.
Of the 412 SOC 2020 codes in Appendix Skilled Occupations, 121 are eligible for a new visa and 52 more are on the Temporary Shortage List. 126 are open only to people who already held Skilled Worker permission before 22 July 2025, and 113 cannot be sponsored.
For most eligible occupations it is £41,700 a year or the occupation's going rate, whichever is higher. Jobs on the Temporary Shortage List and some people, such as new entrants, can be paid less, but not below £33,400. Health and education jobs on national pay scales follow the pay scale.
The employer chooses the occupation code on the certificate of sponsorship from the job’s duties. Whether a person can be sponsored also depends on their own circumstances. This page is information, not immigration advice.
