This role offers flexibility to be based from our Altrincham (Manchester) or Westminster (London) offices, where you’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team environment, supported by our hybrid working approach. Role Responsibilities: - Plan and undertake research, analysis, and design activities, working with senior colleagues to produce robust, evidence-based solutions that meet user needs and align with best practice (including accessibility, inclusion, and assisted digital). - Collaborate with senior and lead designers to produce and maintain research, analysis, and design artefacts, using standard methods, tools, and templates, and presenting findings in forums such as Show and Tell sessions. - Work closely with technical colleagues (e.g., Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts) to ensure designs are deliverable and specified in a format and level of detail that supports efficient development and build. - Support Delivery Managers in executing activities in line with agreed plans, escalating risks and issues when necessary, and contributing robust estimates for technical work. - Maintain up-to-date practitioner skills through training and accreditation, including domain-relevant certifications. Requirements Essential Skills: - User-Centred Design (UCD): Experience designing and delivering user-centred solutions in complex service environments. - Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with senior designers, technical colleagues, and delivery teams to produce high-quality outputs. - Research & Analysis: Skilled at undertaking research and analysis to inform design decisions. - Communication: Strong visual and verbal communication skills to make complex information understandable and actionable. - Public Sector & Consultancy Experience: Familiarity with consultancy delivery in public sector contexts is desirable. - Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing: Ability to coach junior colleagues and contribute to an active practitioner community. Senior colleagues, experts, and leaders at Informed Solutions are committed to supporting, coaching, upskilling, and enabling the success and career progression of each other. There are some foundation areas, however, which you need to possess to be able to successfully contribute to your team and work alongside others.      Key abilities that are necessary for success: - Able to work effectively in environments where you can adapt to innovative practices involving uncertainty, change, and agile working. - Ability to manage competing priorities and your time so you can deliver high-quality work within deadlines. - Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to respect and accept different perspectives and disagreement, work collaboratively in diverse teams, and maintain positive working relationships. - Good judgement and decision-making in complex environments where uncertainty, ambiguity, and risk must be collaboratively managed by working supportively alongside others. - Good communication skills, including clear, constructive written outputs and measured, respectful verbal delivery.   We work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving innovation and problem-solving workplace environment where no two days are the same. This requires you to have the foundations of personal resilience, professional adaptability, and flexibility in working alongside others with a positive mindset.
