ImmigrationGPT gives information about UK immigration, not advice on your own case. It is independent and not part of the Home Office. Under section 84 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, only regulated advisers and lawyers can give immigration advice. For advice on your own case, find a regulated solicitor.

Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (opens in a new tab), including GOV.UK guidance and the Home Office register of licensed sponsors.

ImmigrationGPT includes data supplied by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (opens in a new tab). The SRA does not endorse ImmigrationGPT or any firm listed here.

The register at a glance

This directory mirrors the public Home Office register. Being listed does not mean a company is hiring or will sponsor a particular role. Check the licence on GOV.UK before you apply.

  • How to check if a company can sponsor a visa

    1. Search the company’s legal name. The name on a job advert is often a trading name, so try the name from Companies House or part of the name.
    2. Look at the routes. A sponsor can only sponsor workers on the routes its licence covers, so a Skilled Worker job needs Skilled Worker in the list.
    3. Look at the rating. Most licences are A-rated. A B rating means the Home Office has downgraded the licence, and the sponsor cannot sponsor new workers until it gets its A rating back.
    4. Find the same name in the GOV.UK register of licensed sponsors, which is the official record.

How to check if a sponsor licence is still valid

A licence that is revoked, surrendered or expired leaves the register. Those companies move to the list of removed sponsors, by month. Sponsor licence alerts send an email when an employer’s entry changes. Our guide explains what happens when a sponsor licence is revoked.

    Questions about the sponsor register

How do I check if a UK company can sponsor a visa?

Search the company’s legal name on this page. A listed company holds a sponsor licence, and its entry shows the visa routes the licence covers and its rating. The GOV.UK register of licensed sponsors is the official record. Being licensed does not mean the company will sponsor a particular role.

How do I check if a sponsor licence is still valid?

Search the employer here. If the licence was revoked, surrendered or expired, the company leaves the register and appears in the list of removed sponsors. Sponsor licence alerts send an email when an employer’s entry changes.

Is there an alternative to the Home Office list of licensed sponsors?

The Home Office publishes the register as one CSV file on GOV.UK. ImmigrationGPT is a free, searchable copy of that file, with search by company name, city, visa route and industry. GOV.UK remains the official source.

How often is the sponsor register data updated?

We read the Home Office register twice a day, so a change usually appears here on the day GOV.UK publishes it.

Is ImmigrationGPT part of the Home Office?

No. ImmigrationGPT is independent. It gives information about UK immigration, not immigration advice. The register data is public sector information used under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
